Patrick Tops Reilly in Local Caucuses

The first test in the Democratic race for governor in Massachusetts took place this weekend.

Former U.S. Assistant Attorney General Deval Patrick is heading into the state Democratic convention in Worcester this spring with a significant lead in delegates. Patrick won two-thirds of the committed delegates in this weekend's Democratic caucuses, twice as many State Attorney General Thomas Reilly.

Both candidates will appear on next September's primary ballot, since both won the necessary 15 percent of the delegates to make it on the ballot.

This program aired on February 6, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
