State Flu Plans Topic of Summit

Lawmakers are considering a request for extra funds to fight a possible flu pandemic. Governor Mitt Romney filed supplemental legislation yesterday asking for $36.5 million to bolster planning efforts.

The governor announced the request after attending a summit of local, state and federal officials who focused on Massachusetts' readiness in the event of a pandemic.
