Black History Month

This year marks the 30th commemoration of Black History Month in the United States.

It takes place as some African Americans are debating whether such a celebration is valid anymore. Actor Morgan Freeman stirred the controversy in December when he said in a "60 Minutes" interview that it's ridiculous to relegate black history to one month.
