Carroll's Release Sparks Relief, Joy at UMass

Boston-based reporter Jill Carroll says her nearly three months in captivity in Iraq was like"falling off a cliff...waiting to hit the ground."

She was released yesterday in Baghdad and is receiving medical attention in the U.S. occupied Green Zone.

The news of her release came as a relief to students and professors on the campus of UMass Amherst, where Carroll graduated in 1999.

This program aired on March 31, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
