Menino Keeps Search for Police Commissioner Private

This is Kathleen O'Toole's last month as police commissioner of Boston. In July, she's scheduled to take up a new job as chief inspector of the national force in Ireland. Meanwhile, Mayor Tom Menino's office says it's not rushing the search for her replacement. A committee is looking for candidates in Boston and beyond, but — as Bianca Vazquez Toness reports — some are criticizing the mayor for keeping the search too close to his office.

This program aired on June 9, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
