Boston Medical Center Documentary

In July 2006 Boston Medical Center celebrates its tenth anniversary.

BMC is renowned for its care of the poor and less well-served residents of Boston, but ten years ago carrying out that mission for the city looked far from secure.

In this special report for WBUR, Rachel Gotbaum looks at how Boston Medical Center was created from the merger of two very different medical institution and how the hospital was established to build on a century-old tradition of caring for the poor in Boston.

This program aired on June 22, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
