Boston Superintendent Search

Officials searching for the next Superintendent of Boston Schools say they won't be announcing their choice by Friday, as originally planned.

Search Committee Chair Elizabeth Reilinger is denying Boston Globe reports that the panel has settled on a short list that includes a former Milton Superintendent.

Candidates will be required to answer questions in public forums, a step which may deter some finalists.

Outgoing Superintendent Thomas Payzant retires Friday.

This program aired on June 27, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
