Jill Carroll Tells Her Story

Journalist Jill Carroll, who was kidnapped in Baghdad January 7, 2006 and released March 30, 2006, is beginning to tell the story of her abduction.

In the first of 11 installments published in the Christian Science Monitor, Carroll says she witnessed her interpreter's murder at the hands of her abductors.

She describes the ambush on her way to an interview, and thinking her abductors were going to kill her on a rural back road.

She says she was moved at least a dozen times during her 80-plus days in captivity. Four men suspected in her kidnapped were arrested in Iraq this month.

This program aired on August 14, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
