Governor Orders "No Assistance" to Visiting Former Iranian President

Governor Mitt Romney is ordering state agencies not to provide any assistance for this weekend's scheduled visit by Iran's former president, Mohammed Khatami.

Romney says Massachusetts taxpayers should not give special treatment to someone who "supports violent jihad and the destruction of israel."

Khatami is scheduled to speak at the Kennedy School of Government and will be accompanied by U.S. State Department security...but will not receive an official state police escort, which is standard for visiting VIP's.

This program aired on September 5, 2006. The audio for this program is not available.
