Democratic Primary Race Heats Up

With less than one week before the Massachusetts Democratic gubernatorial primary, former Assistant U.S. Attorney General Deval Patrick leads the three-men field in two newly released polls.

A State House News Service poll shows Patrick with 36 percent of the vote. Venture capitalist Chris Gabrieli had 26 percent. Attorney General Thomas Reilly had 19 percent.

A WBZ TV poll shows Patrick leads with 45 percent, Gabrieli with 29 percent, and Reilly with 21 percent.
