Easter Rising...out of Southie

There's a new book about South Boston coming out next week. Michael Patrick MacDonald, author of the memoir, "All Souls," is releasing "Easter Rising: An Irish American Coming Up From Under."

His new book transports readers back into the 1970s and 80s: a world of conformity, busing riots, and the criminal exploits of Whitey Bulger.

MacDonald tells WBUR's Delores Handy that in "Easter Rising" he finds relief from the pain and anger he associates with South Boston.
