Cells Under New Microscope

This is a story about drunken fruit flies. Well, actually it's about a new focus in the field of biology: how some scientists are moving from the chemistry of life...to looking at living cells as machinery.

The change could lead to new tools for understanding and treating disease. WBUR's Health and Science reporter Allan Coukell explains.
