MBTA: Pricier Tickets to Ride

Commuters heading back to work and school this morning are paying more to get there. On January 1st, the MBTA raised fares for the third time in six years. If you've got one of the T's new CharlieCards, a bus trip now costs a dollar-twenty five. The subway is a dollar-seventy and commuter rail trips now cost an average 25 percent more.

But, as WBUR's Meghna Chakrabarti reports, even with the latest fare increases, transit experts worry about the future of the MBTA.
