Tomorrow marks the 12th anniversary of the day James "Whitey" Bulger fled the FBI's radar. Bulger, reputed boss of the so-called Winter Hill Gang had been an informant for the agency.
He disappeared after getting a tip that he was about to be indicted on racketeering charges. Twelve years later, Bulger is still a fugitive-at-large and on the FBI's Most Wanted list.
David Boeri has been covering this story and the crime beat for years. He recently joined the WBUR newsroom from where he joins WBUR'S Bob Oakes to talk about the search for "Whitey" Bulger.
