Spike in Heroin Deaths
Public health officials are sounding the alarm over a shocking increase in heroin overdose deaths on the South Shore. In a recent ten week period there have been at least 10 heroin-related deaths in communities, such as Abington and Hanover.
As WBUR's Monica Brady-Myerov reports, the deaths underscore the reality that heroin addiction and its impact are cutting across age, race, and class.
