Worcester Home to FDR Museum

If you're a history buff, especially if you're a fan of FDR, head for the train terminal in the center of Worcester. When you arrive inside the grand restored marble lobby of 'Union Station,' cast your eyes upwards.

On the second is the Franklin D. Roosevelt American Heritage Center. It's a small but fascinating museum about the life of the nation's 32nd and long-serving president.

The museum is the brainchild of a psychologist from nearby Whitinsville, Joseph Plaud. The center actually houses just a fraction his huge personal collection of FDR memorabilia.

WBUR's Bob Oakes recently toured the FDR exhibits with Dr. Plaud.

This program aired on February 7, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
