Harvard Selects New President

The new president of Harvard University, Drew Gilpin Faust, says she hopes her appointment can be a symbol of an opening of opportunities that would have been inconceivable a generation ago.

Gilpin Faust is the first woman to head the university, and in a sign she intends to heal divisions that arose under her predecessor, Lawrence Summers, Gilpin Faust says Harvard's faculty must find new ways to work together.
