Immigration Sweep Developments

Immigration officials have released about 60 of the 327 people they detained in Tuesday's raid on a New Bedford factory. The rest remain in US custody. All still face possible deportation, on suspicion of working in the US illegally.

The plant produces leather goods, some by contract with the Department of Defense. The factory owner and three of his managers were arrested in the sweep and face federal immigration charges. WBUR'S Bianza Vazquez Toness looks into the latest developments in this story.

This program aired on March 8, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
