Dalai Lama Speaks At Smith

In Northampton today, the Dalai Lama is planning to meet at Smith College with members of Massachusetts' Tibetan community. The political and religious leader of the Tibetan people spoke at the campus yesterday, when he talked of retiring completely from public life.

For the next few years though, he said he'd continue to champion Tibetan causes and culture. From public radio station WFCR, Karen Brown reports on the Dalai Lama's speech.

This program aired on May 10, 2007. The audio for this program is not available.
