Call To Prayer Resounds in Roxbury
The Islamic 'Call to Prayer' has reverberated for the first time at a controversial new mosque in Roxbury.
Over the weekend, the Islamic Society of Boston and the Muslim American Society celebrated the building's completion as a crane hoisted a copper cap onto the top of the mosque's minaret. The mosque itself will be fully open for worship in about six months.
WBUR's Bob Oakes talks about the fourteen-million dollar project with Bilal Kaleem, Executive Director of the Boston chapter of the Muslim American Society.
