Lawmakers Block Gay Marriage Ban
A proposal to ban gay marriage will not go before the voters next year. In what some are calling a dramatic shift, state lawmakers yesterday rejected an amendment that defined marriage as the "union of one man and one woman."
Proponents of the ballot question are trying to figure out what went wrong and what to do next. Opponents are reveling in their victory. WBUR'S Martha Bebinger reports on the cheers and the jeers.
