Mashpee Tribe Eyes More Land

The Mashpee Wampanoags are eyeing more land in Middleborough.

The tribe already owns or has options on 350 acres in the town. Now, the tribe is negotiating to buy an additional 200 acres abutting their property for sale by a family trust.

With 550 acres, the Mashpees could build a gaming facility on the scale of neighboring casinos in Connecticut.
