Celtics Net Garnett

Today, the Boston Celtics are making more news in one off-season trade deal than the team has registered in recent memory. Boston is acquiring one of the biggest stars in the NBA, Kevin Garnett.

The All Star forward, who has spent his entire 12-year career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is now poised to move to Boston. In exchange, Boston is reportedly sending four players and one draft pick to Minnesota.

For a look at the trade and what it could bring to the Celtics, WBUR's Bob Oakes turns to sports columnist Bob Ryan of The Boston Globe.
