Patrick Picks Obama

Senator Barack Obama campaigned for Deval Patrick when he was running for the Corner Office at the State House. Now, Governor Patrick is endorsing Obama in his run for the Oval Office at the White House.

In a statement late yesterday, Patrick said "the importance of this election transcends friendships and party," and that the country needs "unifying, visionary leadership."

For a look at the implications of Patrick's choice of Obama over Hillary Clinton, WBUR's Bob Oakes turns to Democratic consultant Dan Payne.

Disclosure: Democratic consultant Dan Payne is a former adviser to Deval Patrick during his gubernatorial campaign.
