B.C. Rallies to Win

While most Boston sports fans had their attention focused on the World Series, the Boston College football team was pulling off one of its biggest wins ever.

The number 2 ranked Eagles rallied from a 10-0 deficit with two touchdowns in the final two minutes and 11 seconds to beat 8th-ranked Virginia Tech 14-10 in Blacksburg.

First, BC quarterback Matt Ryan led a 91-yard drive capped by a 16-yard touchdown pass to Rich Gunnell. The Eagles then recovered an onside kick, and with just 11 seconds left, a scrambling Ryan connected with Andre Callender from 24 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

The victory kept the Eagles unbeaten at 8-and-0 and puts them in serious contention for a national championship. It also improves the chances that Ryan could be the school's first Heisman Trophy winner since Doug Flutie.

BC still has four more ACC games to play, beginning next Saturday against Florida State.
