Sabathia Edges Beckett for Cy Young

Cleveland Indians pitcher C.C. Sabathia won the American League Cy Young award, beating out Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett.

Sabathia pitched more innings and had more strikeouts than Beckett, but finished with 19 wins to Beckett's 20.

The voting came before Beckett beat Sabathia twice in the American League Pennant series.
