A Keeper of The Dream

Today, Boston will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Junior at Faneuil Hall. The featured speaker is Reverend "C.T." Vivian. He's a pioneer of the civil rights movement and a close friend of Dr. King.

Reverend Vivian led the first civil rights march in 1961. He rode the "Freedom Bus" into Jackson, Mississippi and he walked alongside King on "The March on Washington."

Before he left his home in Atlanta for Boston, Reverend Vivian spoke with WBUR's Bob Oakes.

This program aired on January 21, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
