Patrick Budget Submitted

Governor Deval Patrick unveiled his proposed $28 billion budget today. The plans for the 2009 fiscal year include increased spending for public safety, education, and health reform, as well as closing tax loopholes, and decreasing corporate tax rates. The governor also includes $300 million in casino revenue in the budget, which has met opposition from state lawmakers. Patrick describes his budget as "fiscally and socially responsible."
