Romney: Now, Then, What Next?

This article is more than 11 years old.

"I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, I feel I must now stand aside, for our party and for our country."

With those words, Mitt Romney is no longer in the 2008 presidential race. The former Massachusetts Governor announced yesterday that he was 'suspending' his campaign.

Analyst Mickey Edwards joins WBUR's Bob Oakes to talk about the implications of Romney's decision. Edwards is a former Republican congressman from Oklahoma. He now teaches politics at Princeton University.

This program aired on February 8, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
