Two Plays, Two Views

This weekend marks the 5th anniversary of the death of American activist Rachel Corrie. The 23-year old was allegedly crushed by an Israeli Army bulldozer in the Gaza Strip while trying to protect a Palestinian home.

Her story was turned into a play 'My Name is Rachel Corrie' in 2005. Now the controversial work is being staged at the New Repertory Theatre in Watertown in rotation with another play, which is from an Israeli American perspective.

WBUR's Andrea Shea has more on the local theater's decision to pair two plays set in the Middle East.

This program aired on March 14, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
