Renewable Energies in MA, Part Two

Massachusetts' parks season is off to a bright start this year. The weather has turned sunny and warm, and the state's open spaces are also enjoying some time in the political sunlight.

On Earth Day yesterday, Governor Deval Patrick proposed a new park in Boston, while touting his clean energy initiatives for the whole state.

Patrick's comprehensive energy reform bill — which advocates energy efficiency and renewable energy — has passed both houses on Beacon Hill. But whether Massachusetts can lead in that field is up for debate.

We looked at that question yesterday on Morning Edition...in our series on renewable energy.

Today, WBUR's Bob Oakes reports on the state's potential for capitalizing on the clean energy industry.

WBUR's Sarah Bush produced this report.

This program aired on April 23, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
