The Celtics and Lakers are set to open the NBA finals. Game one of the best-of-seven series is at the Garden, Thursday night at nine.

The teams have met 10 times in the NBA finals, but it's been a while since the last one...1987.

The all-time tally: The Celts won the first eight, but the Lakers won the last two.
