Manny Goes to Hollywood

Manny Ramirez is outa here...leaving Boston and heading for the hills. The Hollywood Hills, that is.

After months of drama and speculation, the left fielder — better known as a slugger — is leaving the Red Sox to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Just before Major League Baseball's trading deadline yesterday, three teams settled on this deal: Ramirez goes to LA, in exchange for Jason Bay, left fielder of the Pittsburgh Pirates, who comes to Boston. Pittsburgh then gets four other players: two from the Sox and two Dodgers.

Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe was one of the first to report the three-way trade, and he joins WBUR's Deb Becker this morning to talk about it.

This program aired on August 1, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
