Patrick's Political Calculations
It's bill signing, or veto, season at the State House. Governor Deval Patrick has 10 days to put his official stamp on proposals enacted by lawmakers. The Governor has wasted little time.
Among his decisions, he's vetoed a pension increase for state workers and he's approved a health care costs bill that reins in gifts to doctors by pharmaceutical companies and medical device makers. Then Wednesday he rolled out draft regulations to replace police officers with civilian flagmen at certain state road sites.
Jeffrey Berry, a political science professor at Tufts University joins WBUR's Bob Oakes to talk about the Governor's legislative moves.
