Tribute to a Titan

Massachusetts politicians are front and center at this year's Democratic National Convention in Denver, with Governor Deval Patrick speaking tonight, and the Party faithful still fired up after last night's surprise address to the gathering.

Senator Ted Kennedy walked slowly onto the stage, arm-in-arm with his wife Vicki after an emotional introduction by his niece, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg.

The place went quiet, and then erupted as the Senator spoke, "My fellow Democrats, my fellow Americans: it is so wonderful to be here, and nothing, nothing is going to keep me away from this special gathering tonight."

This morning, WBUR's Fred Thys gauges the reaction among the delegates from Massachusetts.

This program aired on August 26, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
