Rolling Out the DNC Rollcall

One of the most highly anticipated events of the Democratic National Convention takes place tonight. It's the traditional "Roll Call."

That's a state-by-state vote for the Party's nominee. This year, although Senator Barack Obama is the presumed winner, Senator Hillary Clinton's name will also be placed into nomination. And that could create some drama tonight.

Massachusetts super delegate James Roosevelt is Co-chair of the DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee, and was in the thick of it when the party was deciding how to punish Florida and Michigan for pushing their state primaries forward, in violation of Party rules.

WBUR's Bob Oakes asked Roosevelt whether the Party is considering changes for the next election cycle.

This program aired on August 27, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
