One man who knows a lot about political strategy is Ron Kaufman, senior advisor to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.

Kaufman was also the political director and advisor to former President George H.W. Bush during the first Bush administration.

Kaufman is in St. Paul as a Republican National Committeeman from Massachusetts. WBUR's Bob Oakes spoke with him just after Senator John McCain announced the first day of convention activities would be truncated because of the storm approaching the Gulf Coast.
