Boston by Design, Part 4: Future Footprint

What will Boston look like in 20, 30, 50 years? Where will people live? What will become of Government Center, East Boston, Dudley Square, and Fort Point?

This week, in our series Boston by Design, reporter Ken Shulman, along with several of the area's top architects and planners, have taken us to some of the most important sites in the development of the city.

We've heard much about the push and pull between old and new. But today, in the fourth and final part of the series, our eyes are firmly fixed on the future.

We begin our tour of "Brave New Boston" in an area that has begun to sprout a range of important new buildings, but is far from fulfilling its potential as a vibrant new center in the city.

This program aired on October 9, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
