Wilkerson's Constituents Reconsider
Update: State Sen. Dianne Wilkerson, D-Boston, announced Friday she will suspend her re-election campaign.
State Sen. Dianne Wilkerson is staying put. In a statement released late last night, the Boston Democrat described the Senate's call for her resignation as "unreasonable." She said she'd continue to represent her district. She'll also continue a sticker campaign to retain her seat.
In light of corruption charges against her, Wilkerson's Senate colleagues had voted unanimously for her resignation Thursday, when she was also removed from her committee posts at the State House.
WBUR's David Boeri reports on reaction among Wilkerson's constituents to the unfolding story.
