President Bush Congratulates Obama

President Bush is promising to cooperate with Barack Obama in the transition work that will precede the transfer of power to the newly elected Democrat.

Bush went to the Rose Garden of the White House Wednesday morning to also pay tribute to John McCain and Sarah Palin, the losing Republican ticket.

He said that Obama's election was a historic breakthrough in a country that has had monumental civil rights battles. Bush said, "No matter how they cast their ballots, all Americans can be proud of the history that was made yesterday."
