Gov. Patrick Lobbying Obama Team For Federal Aid

Governor Deval Patrick will lobby President-elect Obama's chief of staff and several of Obama's economic advisors in Washington today for money from a proposed economic stimulus package.

Patrick has a list of nearly $3.5 billion worth of projects, including efforts to make public buildings more energy efficient and to build a new science center at Framingham State College.

Patrick cautions that federal money is not something the state should rely on, saying "We are not done yet this year in trying to deal with fiscal stresses, and I say that not withstanding what may come in a federal recovery package from Washington."

Patrick will also meet today with Congressman David Obey of Wisconsin, the head of the House Appropriations Committee.

This program aired on December 10, 2008. The audio for this program is not available.
