State Asks Powerless To Remain Patient

Federal aid is on the way, to help with last week's ice storm. President Bush has signed a federal emergency disaster declaration for nine Massachusetts counties.

More than 100,000 homes and businesses remain without power, four days after the storm. That's down from a peak of 350,000 on Friday.

For more on the clean-up efforts and the challenges that remain, WBUR spoke with Peter Judge of the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.
