Analysis: Last-Minute Holiday Shopping Won't Save Retail

It's down to the wire for last-minute shoppers, with just two days to go in the shopping season before Christmas.

It appears there are plenty of procrastinators this year. The National Retail Federation says that as of last week, only one-third of shoppers were finished.

Winter storms this weekend kept many people out of stores, which should have been very busy during the last weekend before Christmas.

To get a sense of the broader holiday shopping this year, we turn to Kathleen Seiders, associate professor of marketing at Boston College.
