Embattled City Councilor To Head First Meeting Of 2009

This article is more than 12 years old.

Indicted Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner will preside at City Hall today as the council holds its first meeting of the new year and chooses a new leader.

Turner was indicted late last year for allegedly taking a bribe.

Turner's leading part in today's meeting is part of a council tradition that lets the oldest councilor chair the first meeting of the session.
