A lot has happened to director Nicholas Martin since he left Boston's Huntington Theatre Company last year. He completed his first season as artistic director of the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and then, as he was preparing to open a show in New York last September, Martin suffered a stroke that required months of rehabilitation.
Now Martin is back in Boston at the Huntington, as artist emeritus, with one of his favorite stars, Kate Burton, in "The Corn Is Green," which opens Friday night.
WBUR's critic at large Ed Siegel has the behind-the-scenes story.
