Layoffs At Mass. High-Tech Firm Hit Small Town Hard

This week's announcement that EMC plans to lay off about 600 people in Massachusetts has people in the data storage company's hometown worried. It's not clear yet where the layoffs will hit, or when, but EMC is by far the biggest employer in Hopkinton.

WBUR's Fred Thys visited the town Thursday to gauge concerns about the impact on local businesses.
