New Owners Plan To Keep Out Of Town News Stand The Same

The landmark Out of Town News kiosk will remain open after all. In November 2008, when the business owner refused to renew the lease at the Harvard Square shop, it seemed to herald the passing of a another piece of history — a victim of changing tastes, high rents and a slumping economy.

That prompted the city of Cambridge, which owns the kiosk, to find a new tenant. Enter Muckey's Corporation from not too far out of town. The Pembroke-based company takes over the iconic Cambridge shop Sunday.
