Another Sign Of The Times? The Relationship Bill
At our 2:30 editors meeting today, the news director mentioned that dating is expensive — and quite near impossible if you've lost your job. We suspect there's a lot less dating these days. And we're trying to confirm word that wedding engagements are way down, too.
Well, how's this for proof of a relationship's expense? After breaking up with her live-in boyfriend of a year and a half, a woman in Australia received an itemized bill for the entire relationship — "seasickness tablets ... birthday dinners ... flowers." Grand total: 7,389.09 AUD, which equates to about 4,800 U.S. dollars.
And here's the contract. ("I signed it out of confusion and being coerced and didn't even realize what it was really until I read it," she writes. "Luckily this won't hold up in court.")
The woman decided to share the experience with the world on a blog.
