Kennedy Returns To Washington

Ailing Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy is back in Washington.

The 77-year-old Democrat returned Monday as the Senate was considering a national service bill he introduced with Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah.

Kennedy, who is battling brain cancer, has been spending time in Florida. He was feted earlier this month by President Barack Obama and others at a star-studded birthday concert at the Kennedy Center.

Kennedy has championed health care reform for decades and hopes to work with Obama and Democrats who control Congress to forge a breakthrough in coming months.

He suffered a seizure at a luncheon in the Capitol following Obama's inauguration. He was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last May.
