According to the Boston Globe, authorities are now investigating a $1.4 million state building management contract that was awarded under DiMasi's tenure to a firm run by a close DiMasi friend.

Richard Vitale co-owns Genesis, won the right to manage the state transportation building in 2006.

Vitale's lawyer says there was "no legal or ethical wrongdoing" in gaining the three-year contract.

Vitale faces a separate indictment for unreported lobbying he allegedly did on Beacon Hill.
